So my baby turned 9 month old and had an awesome vacation in Key west, Fl.We spent 5 glorious days enjoying sun, sand and water.Daani totally enjoyed at the beach.Initially, he was reluctant to get into water probably because the water seemed cold at first.So after two attempts by his dad, I took him to the edge of water and held him down until only the tip of his feet would feel the water.He enjoyed it for a while.And then I started walking a bit further into the water, each time holding him in water for a few minutes.After about half an hour, he was crawling towards the ocean and refused to come out.
At 9 months, my baby is able to stand up on his own, holding onto some support.He can walk around a chair or walk with us holding onto us.He makes loud noises, tries different sounds such as nnnnnnn or some days its bbbbba.By this time, he's used to having oatmeal/brown rice cereal or cream of wheat for breakfast.Lunch usually consists of rice and lentil or mashed potatoes with pureed chicken or meat or pureed broccoli or one of those Earth's Best beans or spring vegetables with rice.I was happy that he isn't a picky eater until I tried feeding him home cooked zucchini.He hated it and clamped his mouth shut.He refused to open it and I had to feed him something else.I also feed him half a cup of Stony field's yo baby yogurt usually in the evening.I noticed that his bowel movements are more regular when he feeds yogurt.Dinner time usually consist of a pureed fruit like pear or apple.
Now, mashallah he has a language of his own which he keeps talking in while he's crawling around or looking into his toy box.He also actually opens his book, First 100 words by Bright Baby and stares at the pictures.He can also turn the pages all by himself.
The funny thing is he's 9mo and hasn't cut out a single tooth yet.Hm mm.....
We have his Dr's appt on Thursday May 3rd 2012 for his routine well visit and vaccinations.I will bring that up at the Dr's visit.
Meanwhile, a very recent development is that he is now able to rise up and stand on his own for a minute or two before he sits down.
mashAllah my baby is growing up and I fall in love with him more and more each day.He's such an active kid mashallah he always wants to move around and explore.I can barely get him hug me or cuddle with him.So when he sleeps I lay down next to him and cuddle him all I want.
